Better yet, use a physical hard drive (completely separate from the host drives) this is, in fact, ideal if you wish to simulate a production environment on hardware similar to the planned eventual physical host. MEGA owns and operates its redundant server infrastructure directly, ensuring that your data always remains. Instead, substitute a fixed hard drive size (50 GB minimum for the boot drive). Secondly, you can't use an expanding hard disk (typical for VM software) with a Windows server OS. Unless you have VT-x/AMD-V support *and* are running an 圆4 version of Windows 7, WHS 2011 RC won't run in a VM. Inside the cfg. w200fw35.exe /SROM 0 /LOG /ADDRESS 02-00-00 /WRITE F303408.MEM CFG.INI (see the CFG.INI attached below) In response to idata. One is a Western Digital My Passport Essential SE and the other is a Seagate GoFlex. It does this in all the installs, not just one VM manager. The unattend file is called cfg.ini, and needs to also be in the root of the thumbdrive with the WHS 2011 DVD image on it. Im using the same board in my Windows Home Server 2011 and both USB 3.0 ports work absolutely fine with 2 external hard disks. I can't cut and paste the log here, but basically at the end it seems to complain about the size of the "hard disk" no matter what I do. I get an error in the install before it does much of anything, but the error doesn't tell me anything. Has anyone succeeded in installing in a VM? I've tried VirtualBox, VMWare Workstation, and Virtual PC, all current releases, on an i7 with 8GB RAM and plenty of disk space free.
